Alright, this is it. I am putting my foot down and drawing the line in the sand. To all of you “leaders” in the GOP, let me be very clear: Shape up or ship out. Actually, just go ahead and ship out. If you cannot make your rhetoric (the one we elected you on) match your record then please get out of the way.
For too many years you have touted our beliefs and morals to win your elections. Not only are your morals reprehensible, your policies lack all signs and bearings of conservative policy. This is why we lost the election. You didn’t follow through with what you were elected to do!
Normally, when I refer to the GOP, I use the personal pronoun “we”. Because I am a Republican, a part of the collective whole, I will share in the blame and glory. “We”, the collective, voted for you and supported you, so now “we” follow you and call you our leader.
But no more. You forfeit your right to leadership in this party with your actions. This one is on you, “we” will not share the blame.
As a proud Republican I will not let you make a mockery of my belief system any more. I will not stand by and let you run into the ground the principles so many have died for. You seem to have forgotten that, as our last election showed, leadership is a gift. It is a gift from the people that choose to follow you, the people who accept you and place you in that role. True leadership cannot be demanded or taken, it s only given. You have proven you don’t deserve the position and can’t handle the responsibility. So this is it, we are taking it away. We no longer chose to follow you.
Guess what, I am not alone in this one. America is still a right of center country and we will not sit here and watch you wreak havoc on our caucus.
Last month polling showed that most Americans are pro life. That is a right of center ideal.
Americas want to provide affordable, quality health care to their own families without having their choices dictated by a bureaucrat. That is a right of center ideal.
American’s believe we can provide American energy and resources without compromising affordability or quality. That is a right of center ideal.
There IS a ground swell of leadership that will take the reins from you and lead with honor. Here are a few things the next generation of GOP leadership will do:
- Say what we really are. Some people may not always like it, but we are going to put it out there
- Deal with real issues that real American’s are facing
- Find real solutions that work, regardless of who came up with the solution
- Respect the American people, even the one’s we disagree with
So please I beg you, step aside, get out of the way, and watch out.
